We are Pridefest Collaborative, but you can call us PFC. PFC is a collection of like-minded professionals and community members from all over the Southeast with one goal in mind: make this world just a little bit more fun and whole lot safer for our LGBTQIA+ youth and their families.
At PFC, our focus is to #elevatenotreplicate all the great organizations that support LGBTQIA+ youth and families in our community. We know that there are so many great services being offered by these folks that trying to recreate them so they are “ours” just doesn’t make sense! Instead, we choose to raise THEIR voice so we can raise YOUR voice – the voice of the community we serve!
While we support the upstate of South Carolina primarily, we want to be a voice for all LGBTQIA+ youth and families, and those that support, protect, and enhance their ability to face the adversity of the world! Such beautiful people DESERVE to be happy people LIVING better lives!
As a medical doctor primarily taking care of adolescents and young adults, I am no stranger to the challenges and obstacles our younger population faces, especially our LGBTQIA+ community. We should do whatever we can to make this world deserving of them and let them know that even if they are not sure where they fit, they are not alone in figuring it out.
Help us raise the voice of our LGBTQIA+ youth and familes and connect them with the great services and organizations ready to show them how they can best #beyou!
The mission of Pridefest Collaborative is to advance unity, visibility, self-esteem, support, and wellness among youth (and their families) who identify as LGBTQIA+ and to promote a positive image of this unity throughout the Upstate of South Carolina.
Pridefest Collaborative sees a future where differences are embraced, disparities are erased, and desires of acceptance elevated above the discord life sometimes brings. This will be accomplished by elevation NOT replication of all the great services that foster and protect our LGBTQIA+ youth and families.
The most important thing is to advocate and educate others when it comes to LGBTQ issues, and to be an active, vocal ally in the fight for well-being.
